Zeynep Göltekin Alasya

Zeynep Alasya, born in 1976, is the daughter of renowned actors Zeki Alasya and Oya Alasya. She began piano and solfège lessons at the age of five and later graduated from Istanbul Beyoğlu High School and Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, specializing in Glass Arts.

Zeynep Alasya’s professional music career began with her collaboration with composer Melih Kibar. She also took vocal training from Tülay Uyar and started writing song lyrics. After participating in various vocal, stage, and jingle projects, she made her first notable appearance by performing the song Bir Bakışın Yetti in Melih Kibar’s album Saat Sabahın Dokuzu. She also wrote the lyrics for the 80th Anniversary March composed by Kibar to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Turkish Republic.

At one point in her career, she worked as a backing vocalist for Sezen Aksu. In December 2010, she released her debut solo album, Suskun, under Rec Music Production. On her father’s side, Zeynep Alasya has Cypriot roots.

She contributed to the music of popular TV series such as Osmanlı Kıyam and Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Zeynep Alasya married for the first time at the age of 22, but the marriage ended in divorce. In 2004, she married Alpay Göltekin, a prolific composer who produced hundreds of soundtracks for commercials and TV series. The couple has a son named Ali.
