Murat Evgin, born on November 5, 1977, in Istanbul, completed his primary education at Nurettin Teksan Primary School and graduated from İstek Foundation’s Private Belde High School.
While studying in the Radio-TV-Cinema department at Marmara University’s Faculty of Communication in 1999, he released his first album Beni Ellere Verdin, which included songs he wrote himself.
After his second album İnan Bana in 2003, he began composing music for TV competitions and series.
In 2005, he created the song Şehit, whose symbolic royalties were donated to the Turkish Armed Forces Mehmetçik Foundation, and he filmed a music video with the legendary Turkish actress Hülya Koçyiğit.
He composed music for popular TV shows such as Ben Evleniyorum, Biz Evleniyoruz, Kalplerde İkinci Bahar, Ah Kalbim, and Ya Şundadır Ya Bunda hosted by Ebru Akel and Mehmet Ali Erbil, as well as sitcoms like Haylaz Babam (Uygur Kardeşler), Çocuğun Var Derdin Var (Şevval Sam, Cem Davran), and TV series such as Acemi Cadı, Arka Sokaklar, Umut Yolcuları, Ayışığı, İkizler Memo-Can, Elif, Yaralı Kuşlar, Canım Annem, and Toprak İle Fidan.
The music for Arka Sokaklar made history by becoming Turkey’s longest-running TV series, with 19 seasons and nearly 700 episodes.
His music reached international audiences, especially through the series Elif, Yaralı Kuşlar, and Canım Annem, being heard in the Balkans, Spain, Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, and throughout Latin America.
Interviews with him were published in the press of many countries, from Mexico to Cuba, Spain to Argentina.
In 2017, he became the first Turkish composer whose music was released for the Netflix series Myths & Monsters, marking his debut on Netflix USA.
In 2018, he composed the music for the four-part documentary series The Stuarts – A Bloody Reign, broadcast in the UK, hosted by History Professor Kate Williams.
In 2021, he composed the music for İyi ki Yapışım, a Netflix series about the life of Metin Akpınar, and in 2022, for the Netflix documentary Caniko, about Yıldız Kenter.
Murat Evgin has performed concerts not only in Turkey but also in countries such as Germany, Spain, the United States, and Colombia.
In 2024, he celebrates his 25th year in the music industry, with 10 albums (including 5 film soundtrack albums) and 14 singles released.
